Extrusion is the process of forming profiles. Push through the tool/mold and adjust the profile to the desired shape. When the profile leaves the tool, it is cooled with water or air and then stretched while the profile is still "soft". The profile is then cut and then heated and/or cold hardened to give it its final strength.
